Overview

Orthodontic treatment in young children ages 5 – 9 is primarily focused on proper facial growth and development. Treatment includes expansion and bite correction, using orthodontic and Myobrace appliances.

Our Approach

We strive to intervene as early as possible in order to achieve optimal changes. Treating young children is teamwork between parent-child-doctor. It requires hard work and dedication to bring rewarding final results.

Tongue and Lip Tie

Overview

With an unusually short or tight band of tissue (lingual frenulum), a tongue tie can be hereditary and is likely to interfere with child functions like breastfeeding or proper development of speech patterns. Lip ties also restrict mobility in a patient’s mouth. Similar to tongue ties, lip ties can negatively impact child functions like breastfeeding or speech development.

Our Approach

We’re always readily available for a consultation regarding concerns about a child’s range of motion in their tongue. Visit us and we’ll determine a proper course of action depending on the patient’s individual needs. A surgical procedure may be required to correct both tongue and lip tie inadequacies.
